About the Author
Dewey Nicks, born in St. Louis,"Gateway to the West," is the son of an advertising man. His family vacations were spent visiting Hollywood landmarks and promenading up and down Sunset Boulevard. Intoxicated with the glamor and eccentricity of the Los Angeles area, Nicks relocated there, studying photography at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Although he is a successful commercial photographer and director, it has been fashion shoots for magazines like Vogue, GQ and W that have provided Hicks with professional exposure as well as a "backstage pass" into the subcultures of L.A. Kustom is his first book.
