Arthur Ransome says By far the best fishing anthology I have ever read
London: Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1955. With great illustrations by Denys Watkins-Pitchford. An anthology of interesting snippets about fishing for the bedside table. Accounts of past fishing trips, practical advice on floaters, gillies and trying knots in nylon. Fishing accidents. Inns, ponds, moats and brooks. Record fish. Believe it or not, etc. Jacket has been well protected by an old 'adjustable lyfjacket'. Spots on cover and fore-edge--over all a nice copy.
